Chippy the Dolphin

Also born in 1976, Chippy is a first-generation female. She has birthed three calves over the years and is one of our founding family members. We collected her from Abaco in 1989. After having two babies, Chippy began formal training in 1996. She was old for a first-timer in training, but she learned quickly. By 1997 she was a member of our dolphin swim team. Chippy enjoys spending time with her primary trainer and has learned numerous tricks; these include the aerial back dive, side breach, frontal flip and hug. Trainers have also noted that Chippy seems to have a best friend – Aunty V. Chippy became pregnant again in 1998 and gave birth over one year later. She and another dolphin named Dot take turns caring for their young.
